To reach your goals successfully, it's important to boost your confidence and self-worth while using your time well. Having a growth mindset helps you view challenges as chances to learn and grow. Building self-discipline will keep you focused and dedicated to your goals. Taking time to reflect on yourself and practicing mindfulness can also help you grow, allowing you to notice your progress and make changes when needed.

Good communication is important for many parts of life, like solving problems and making strong relationships. By getting better at talking and listening, you can help others understand you and show that you care, which can prevent
loneliness and help you connect with people. Learning how to date can improve your social life, and dealing with family issues also needs careful communication. In general, these skills make life more enjoyable and balanced.

Why I Started Delivering Wellbeing
Courses

I grew up almost religiously watching the Oprah Winfrey Show. It was my introduction to self-help and personal growth. I vividly listened to and tried to apply the life lessons from Oprah and her guests. At every opportunity, with everyone who would listen, I would share what I had learned in the hope of improving the lives of others. I chose professions to help me make a difference, including housing, teaching and mental health and wellbeing. They gave me the knowledge and skills,  and when my circumstances changed, I decided to  widen my areas and reach.

My Story

I’m married with three children, two of whom have a diagnosis of autism. For a long time, I worked as a teacher, part-time, 3 days a week and so got to spend a fair amount of time with the family, especially in the school holidays. These jobs were often contracts because the schools really wanted a full-time teacher, or else I was covering for someone on maternity leave. When it became clear that my youngest needed to attend the local nursery because of their speech and language needs, I had three roles, including tutoring children for the 11+ exam and caring for my sick mother.

Around this time Covid hit. After Covid and the death of my mother and with all three children now at school, I saw a job in wellbeing which looked as though it had been written for me! It involved returning to university for a year for further study and was full time. My plan was to go part-time once qualified. So, I got my head down and by God’s grace passed the course, although it took me extra time to do so. I then worked full time, with no school holidays, until pleading my case to go down to four days a week. I worked hard, did well and was being encouraged to go for promotion.

Great! Except as my working life was getting better and better my home life was getting worse and worse. Over the four years that I did the job there were deaths in the family, self-harm, an assault on one of the children, illness and both GCSEs and A Levels. All against the backdrop of children with autism. There just came a point – my husband’s illness and improving the life chances of my special needs children that meant I had to stop putting the mental health and wellbeing of clients before the health and wellbeing of my own family. I needed to leave my job and work when the children were at school. I needed to be available when they were around so no working after the school run or in the school holidays. Weekends were a possibility when my youngest didn’t have music lessons.

So here I am! Working for myself, during the hours that work for my family, continuing to do what I love and achieving great results for my clients. I hope that I get to help you too.

Client Reviews

“Being able to talk about personal issues and experiences made it easier. Bouncing ideas off of someone and coming up with a plan for what would work for our family. A plan to implement. It made a big difference.”
